Update

The Government has withdrawn its previous local government reorganisation (LGR) decision and is reviewing plans for Hampshire and the Solent area. This means that Future Hampshire activities are currently paused. Further LGR updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Future Hampshire is the place where you can find information about local government reorganisation (LGR) in Hampshire, and what these changes mean for you.

While we work to establish the new councils on 1 April 2028, residents and businesses will continue to receive services from their current council(s). Our focus remains the same: supporting residents, strengthening communities and continuing to provide high-quality services across Hampshire.
